Inspired by the Olympic Spirit

Have you been inspired by the Olympics? Members of our staff have been. Some dusted off their running shoes to take part in a series of sponsored runs this summer.

All top-class athletes (and fun-runners) need a strong support team and so other members of the firm turned out at the local events to support their colleagues along with the runnersí friends and family.

They dug deep into their pockets to sponsor the runners who raised in excess of £400 to aid the causes of the charities.

The Knowle Fun Run

The first event was the Knowle Fun Run on 13th May 2012 where Paul and Christine Hughes ran 5 miles both in new personal best times.

This annual fun-run is organised by the Knowle and Dorrdige Lions who this year were raising money for Alzheimerís Society, Crossroads Care and the Dorridge and Knowle Scout Group.

The Dorridge Fun Run

The Dorridge Fun Run took place on 17th June 2012 and saw the team of Steve Stewart, Lucy Bluck, Julie Palmer, John Padget, Paul & Christine Hughes, Dan Zakis and Wendy Cottam all complete the 3 or 8 mile courses.

The charities supported included Stroke Association, SOLO, Ward 19, FastAid, CAG and Brain Tumour UK.

At this event Wallace Robinson and Morgan also organised and manned a balloon race stall which offered a prize of £25 and a free will. This proved to be a popular stall and the proceeds were donated to the named charities.

The Great North Run

In September, Paul & Christine have one final challenge ahead of them as they are committed to complete the 13 mile Great North Run for the third year running.

They are aiming to raise at least £1000 in sponsorship so if you wish to help them reach their target please contact them.
