Spooky Halloween Bake-Off
We’ve been at it again, raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity!
This time two of our Directors, Paul Hughes and Tim Langford, took on the roles of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood to judge our baking masterpieces. They were joined by the winners of last year’s bake-off, Anna and Ruth.
Wacky colours & ideas
We had a lot of spooky and spectacular entries this year for our first Halloween bake-off. People got into the spirit of the occasion with all sorts of whacky colours and ideas.
After tasting all of the creations, the judges took their time to confer and decide on the winners of each category: best taste, best decoration and overall winner.
The office was then invited to help themselves to the cake and give a donation to our chosen cause, The Brain Tumour Charity. With so much cake to choose from people gave generously and we managed to raise £84!
And the winners are…
The winners were then announced.
With her ‘Witches’ Cauldron’ extravaganza, Aimee won best decorated. Karen’s ‘Creepy Graveyard’ scene won best tasting for the chocolate and orange sponge. And our overall winner went to Maria for her pumpkin, squash and sticky toffee creation, with some amazing toffee apples on top.
Aimee's Witches' Cauldron - winner of 'Best Decorated'
Karen's Creepy Graveyard - winner of 'Best Tasting'
Maria's Pumpkin, Squash and Sticky Toffee creation - overall winner!
Our ongoing effort
Our thanks go to all our entries and the effort that went in to all the baking. All donations go towards helping us to reach our £5000 target.
