Dorridge Fun Run 2013

Our team will be taking part in the Dorridge Fun Run again on Sunday 16th June.

Paul, Chris, Dan and John will be running the 8k course. Tim will be cycling the route with his wife and two little boys.

Supporting 6 worthy causes

This year’s Dorridge Fun Run will raise funds for six principal charities;

• The Lily Mae Foundation
• SoLO (Solihull Life Opportunities)
• CAG (Challenge Adventure Group)
• Motor Neurone Disease Association
• Darwin Explorer Scouts
• Help Harry Help Others.

As Dan’s grandfather suffered from Motor Neurone Disease, we have set up a Justgiving page for our supporters to sponsor the team and raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

9th Dorridge Fun Run and Summer Fair

This year is the 9th Dorridge Fun Run and Summer Fair.

Hopefully 2013 will better last year’s tremendous success. The organisers beat their target of £30,000 with a record number of entrants and supporters, taking their fund-raising total over £200,000.

Everyone can take part, but you can always just come along to the Summer Fair.

Choose between a 3 and 8 mile distance through beautiful Warwickshire countryside. You’re free to run, walk or cycle. Any form of non-motorised transport is allowed.

And it’s all in complete safety on traffic-free roads.

Great family day out for all

You can relax afterwards at the Summer Fair in the extensive grounds at St. Philip’s Church Centre in Manor Road.

With live music, a barbecue and plenty of refreshments (including a bar), there’s also a large range of stalls, entertainment and children’s games.

The route

Starting at St Philip’s Church Centre by Malcolm Stent at 10.15 (cycles) and 10.30 (runners and walkers) the route follows a figure of eight shaped course through Darley Green, Packwood, Chessetts Wood and Bakers Lane finishing up again at St Philip’s.

All roads are closed, fully marshalled and signposted with water stations and a full St John Ambulance presence.

Ample parking is available (large, signposted and within walking distance) and the start is easily accessed by public transport (Dorridge railway station is merely 400 yards distant). Men’s and women’s changing facilities are available.

Pre-register and find out more

All participants must register and pay entry fees beforehand. It may be possible to enter on the day but only if there is availability. It’s cheaper and recommended to register in advance.
