Wallace Robinson & Morgan Ladies Race for Life
For the second consecutive year, members of our team took part in Cancer Research UK's Race for Life. This year’s Solihull event was held on Sunday 22nd June 2014.
Our all female team enjoyed the carnival atmosphere and appreciated the encouragement of local people who cheered the participants all along the 5K course.
The team of twelve, each dressed in their pink t-shirts were all pleased to complete the course in a respectable time as it was a very hot day – by the end of the final sprint their faces were pinker than their t-shirts!
The Wallace Robinson & Morgan team have had tremendous support from friends, family and colleagues, helping them raise over £1000 to help beat cancer.
A big “well done” to Maureen Thompson, Valerie Warner, Kathryn Ferris, Sharn Nijjar, Sarah Mochan, Marta Fisher, Rebecca Baker, Rebecca Maher, Helen Gamble, Sophie Murtough, Heidi Ryder and her daughter, Charlie.
Race for Life
Race for Life is the UK’s biggest fight against cancer and the largest women-only fundraising event in the UK.
Entrants are encouraged to join in the Race for Life and show cancer who’s boss by raising money to fund groundbreaking research into new drugs and treatments.
A massive crowd turned out on Sunday to run, walk or dance their way round the route and have raised money by sponsorship to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
Some of the Race for Life women take part in celebration of surviving a cancer experience. Others take part in memory of a loved one or to give hope to a cancer-free future.
