And the WRM Bowling Champion for 2017 is
It’s hard to believe that it is 12 months since we were last invited to Solihull Bowling Club for what has become our annual WRM Bowling Championships.
However, July 12th saw another nice evening of fun and relaxation with a side serving of fierce competitive spirit (from some) and with the patient guidance of the Bowls club members a good time was had by all.
Sadly, there was little sign of improvement in general skill level since last year - maybe playing once a year is not really enough!
Let the games begin
After a few practice rounds and the essential refreshment break, the serious games began.
One of our newest members of staff, Liam Wdowiak, a solicitor in our Wills & Probate department, beat off the more experienced hands of Tim Langford, one of directors of the firm. I’m never sure if it’s such a great idea to beat the boss but luckily Tim takes these things on the chin.
Delighted with the win
Liam was delighted to be awarded his trophy and when interviewed after the match said (with his tongue firmly in his cheek), “I was delighted to win during my very first bowling match. The knock-out rounds were very tough encounters against skilled opposition. During the final I was carried by the massive support of the crowd to win 5-0 and declared the winner after just 3 ends”.
Well done Liam.
We’d like to pass on our thanks to Solihull Bowls Club for inviting us and looking after us so well.
May we come back next year?
