Sarah Mochan joined the firm in July 2013 as an associate solicitor in the Wills, Probate & Trusts (Private Client) team. Sarah is now a Director (Partner) at the firm and is head of the department of expert solicitors who specialise in all matters affecting the elderly.
After gaining a 1st Class Honours Law Degree at Birmingham University, Sarah also went on to complete the Legal Practice Course there. She then joined a large Birmingham practice as a trainee solicitor, subsequently qualifying in 1996. After working in Birmingham for nearly 10 years, Sarah then moved to work in Solihull in 2005.
Since qualifying, Sarah has specialised in all aspects of private client work, with particular emphasis on Wills and Inheritance Tax planning and the administration of estates, including complex and high value cases.
Sarah is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme (WIQS) and is the firm's senior reporting officer for the scheme. This shows that she follows best practice procedures to meet the highest standards of technical expertise and client service in providing tailored Wills and Probate advice to her clients.
Sarah is also an accredited member of the SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly). The SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly) is an independent, national organisation of over 1,500 lawyers, such as solicitors, barristers, and chartered legal executives, who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers. In order to be a fully accredited member, lawyers must have a minimum of three years’ experience advising in areas of older client law and have completed the Older Client Care in Practice Award – a qualification which demonstrates the specialist client care skills that enable lawyers to advise and support older and vulnerable clients. SFE members like Sarah are also required to continuously update their knowledge with training and produce an annual statement of competence, which ensures they maintain their expertise.
A little more about Sarah
